My story
Garry Anthony Priam was born in 1965 in Luton, England to Willianna Wilson and Kidgwin Sudley Priam, originally from St. Lucia and St. Vincent in the Caribbean. In 1970 the Priam family immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada to explore better opportunities in North America.
Garry grew up in a suburb called Charleswood and went to Oak Park High School. He was an outstanding athlete in Basketball, Track and Field, Soccer and Ice Hockey. He always liked to be active and outside and to read and write in his free time. As teenager he started modeling and later began acting in television.
Garry was recruited to play basketball by a number of Universities and chose to attend the University of Manitoba whereupon he graduated with a computer science degree in 1987. He always wanted to become a professional athlete and started working in the computer field before leaving a year after graduation to play professional basketball in London, England.
the country of Italia has a mystique that was always calling to Garry's heart and he chose to move there in in 1996. He lived there for 9 years in the cities, Samarate, Reggio Emilia, Bergamo, Forli’, Torino and Modena.
Garry had to learn Italian upon arriving in Italia because no one spoke English and he only knew a couple of Italian words.
He quickly grasped the language by watching tv, reading and talking to his basketball teammates and friends.
Even though Garry had previously worked as an Instructor in Computer Science at Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada there was still a burning passion deep inside him to write poetry. He began to write again in the fall of 2004 while living in Modena, Italia. However, this time he wrote his poems in Italian.
He showed his Italian friends his words and they suggested he get them published in a book. After a bit of convincing, Garry decided to look for a publisher in Italia and Canada and chose to self publish with Trafford Publishing in 2006.

Garry’s first edition of his book entitled:
“un assaggio di passione: poesie d’amore” – “a taste of passion: love poems”, was launched at Chapters in North Vancouver, and at The Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver, Canada and he later released an English/Italian version of his book.
Garry currently lives close to Vancouver, British Columbia Canada, in a city called Surrey, where he continues to write and works as an actor and owns
Mossa International Inc. a corporate consulting - company. He still likes to play basketball, run, and also scuba dive.
